1.        When no shipment has been done you can still cancel the sales order 

    • Actions> Cancel order.


2.        When a shipment is on the SO but not confirmed yet.

    • Go to the shipment and delete shipment
    • Go to the SO - Actions>Cancel order


3.        When shipment is on the SO and the shipment is confirmed.

    • Go to actions>Correct shipment
    • Delete shipment
    • Go to the SO - Actions>Cancel order


4.        When shipment is on the SO and the shipment is confirmed. The inventory transaction is updated, but no sales is done and you want to can the shipment. 

       You cannot do this because stock has been sold. You can only invoice the shipment/prepare invoice but against 1 qty and a zero amount.
